I would like to welcome you personally to my site on Nutrition, Holistic Health and Spiritual Development. My name is Kimmi Sandhu and you can read my full bio in the About Me section of the site to find out more about me. The site will contain blog posts and articles about all kinds of topics within nutrition and plant-based diet. I will keep this space updated with everything I find is important to share and what you’d like to hear more about. Keep in contact and comment on my posts so I know what you’d like to hear more about.
I am currently finishing my degree in Food Science, while I am meanwhile building up this space to reach out to more people. My journey with nutrition and my passion for this topic began in my childhood. I have always preferred reading books and articles about anything related to food and nutrition, whether it was recipes or more in-depth scientific information. I spent my free-time wanting to know more about why certain diseases were being worsened by a specific diet or by including certain ingredients. Digging deep into why certain foods can work as super-foods and boost our immune system and protect our bodies; the more I read the more I wanted to know. I finally took the step a few years ago to start studying again at university. Getting to know like-minded people was such a big motivation for me throughout the years, and that’s what got me through the hard and long nights when studying for exams, parallel to working at my IT job.
One of my biggest inspiration is Dr. Michael Greger. In 2017 he came to Stockholm for a lecture following the release of his book “How not to die”. I stood in line to get my book signed, while I was nervous, not knowing why. He’s the most down-to-earth and humble person in the field according to me, so there was nothing to worry about. I later realised that the lecture that evening was the most important stepping stone to make a change in my life. To start walking in the direction I needed to be in. I wanted to dedicate my career to helping people with nutrition, diet and becoming more aware of what we put in our bodies. I remember when I left that venue and lecture I finally found my way home; to my calling. I’m happy to have you with me on my journey. Let’s get to know each other better!
