I use a Philips blender that is able to crush ice and frozen pieces of fruit which is most important. You can stock your freezer with all kinds of fruits and veggies to start your smoothie journey. Berry Smoothie packed with Berries
Equipment
- Blender
Ingredients
- ½ banana frozen or fresh
- ½ cup frozen raspberries preferably organic
- ⅓ cup frozen blueberries preferably organic
- 1 tsp flax seeds
- ⅓ cup rolled oats
- 1½ cup milk substitute of your choice e.g. oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk or almond milk
- ½ tbsp chia seeds preferably organic
- 1 tsp fresh lime juice optional
Instructions
- Pour all the frozen fruits and berries into a large blender
- Add the oat milk and so it covers all the fruits
- Add the oats, chia seeds and flax seeds to the blender
- Turn on the blender for 1 minute or until everything is blended and creamy, I use the smoothie setting on my Philips blender
- Pour up in a large glass and drink with a straw
Notes
- The lime juice helps the blueberries to stay fresh for longer in the smoothie, or else the colour usually turns darker pretty fast due to the antioxidants in the berries
- Drink with a straw so you don’t finish the smoothie so fast. The breakfast smoothie is meant to be drunk for a while so the blood sugar is slowly rising and your body adjusts to all the goodness in it.
